A few (4) pictures I took off Tunitas Creek Road up in San Mateo County when I was driving around there on Friday. The mist came out a little overexposed in these and in some cases almost looks like light. These photos look off the road into what I guess is Purisima Open Space Preserve, which I failed to find the entrance to. Though the weather was clear on the valley floor, up on the ridge it was often driving in fog.
At the time I gave up after driving about 1.5 - 2 miles along Tunitas Creek because the thought occurred to me (incorrectly) that open space preserve means that if you have only two legs, you don't get in unless you also have feathers, so I turned around and wound up at Huddart County Park instead (which appeals to me as a gather site if Stone City doesn't work out). However, looking up the name of Purisima just now, I see that of the 25 preserves in the Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District, 21 are fully open and no permit required, so a little getting oot and aboot may be in order.
Besides Purisima ("purest", I think - should be PurÃsima?), other interestingly named ones are Ravenswood and Thornewood. Teague Hill is also ringing some kind of a bell - was there a character named Teague in some well-known book or game or something?
To bed, now. Bah. (Wish I hadn't gotten my sleep schedule skewed this late. I don't like waking up at a quarter to noon. I don't "rise and shine" by any means, but still I would prefer to be up around 10:30.)
