I just counted stamps in my passport.

Given an average ticket price (I'm guessing, as it has varied rather wildly over the past 7.5 years), I've spent over $12,000 just flying to Canada.

That doesn't count the times I've paid for enotsola to fly here, which are not as many, but even if I am conservative and estimate 1/3 as many, still.

In a material sense, I could have had two cars sitting out there in the driveway!

...but what's a car without a beloved in it to go driving around the country with, anyway?

hah. wow. My beloved flight-funding is less than half that all told, but I do think about it in exactly those terms. Yes, it's a bit nuts in terms of material goods equivalence, but... my people!
