I AM UNTHRILLED AT GETTING THE DAMN SNAP PREVIEWS EVEN THOUGH I HAVE EXPLICITLY TURNED THEM OFF. I know I did it before but I thought hey, maybe it got turned on again in the latest code push and no, lo and behold, THE CHECKBOX FOR THAT IS EVEN EMPTY AND I AM STILL GETTING THEM. In other words MY SETTING IS BEING IGNORED. thanksalot.

I can't imagine why anyone ever thought this was a good idea, period, for any website ever. I hope they go to hell and die.

Apparently, you turn them off for your journal only. Bleh.

To block snap.com:

Locate your hosts file (it's c:\Windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts on my system) and add this line to it:
127.0.0.1 shots.snap.com

Um, that's dumb, because until today they were not appearing on any other journals either. Something must have changed in the code push. That's fucking stupid.

Well, I submitted a support request anyway. Maybe if they get enough of them someone will notice this is Bad And Wrong Thing.
