Well, she's pretty dynamic, all things considered. She's played since um. I was in junior high school? So pushing 20 years now... and she's a Laurel AND a Pelican AND a court Baroness AND some guy keeps fighting for her at Crown and getting to semi finals, so in a way it may only be a matter of time before she's Queen of the West. O.o But she's not the most technically savvy person in the world, heh.
That is deeply cool! Is it a nice guy fighting for her? Someone Radnor or Fabian like? (Oh yes, I have my mad skillz when it comes to the name knowing!) (And there are only a small subset of people that you meet at textile conferences ...)
My brain is saying his name is Roric (sp?). I'll have to ask her tomorrow morning. Fabian I recognize (duh? like Jade and whassisname? Paul of Bellatrix? he's a duke several times over); Radnor I don't. My SCA history isn't the greatest, although I'm not bad at reading blazons. ^_-
You beat me! I speak exactly enough Heraldese to chat with curators on stitching and weaving in military clothing (ie, not much!). I've met some of those people! Fabian, Paul and Radnor I really liked. Jade gave me the screaming heebies. I've just realised what your icon is, much love!!
I just snatched the icon today by digging back through iconzicons. Jade? Funny, i seem to recall that I rather liked him, although of course I haven't encountered him in a while.
Hai - pardon the reply to this extremely old comment. I thought it might amuse you to know that in the context of this three-year old remark, "some guy keeps fighting for her at Crown and getting to semi finals, so in a way it may only be a matter of time before she's Queen of the West", that in fact she WAS Queen from January to May 2009 and will be crowned for the second time for the similar period 2011, courtesy on both occasions of (Mega-)Duke Jade of Starfall. With becoming a Duchess on stepping down, she'll finally have completed her SCA bingo card. :P

Huh, somehow I never really processed how much older your mom was than mine... guess it didn't matter when we were kids and all. Somehow, I suspect she'll still do better in the internets than my mom does! ;)
