I'd love to be able to grow one of those, but alas, they aren't quite hardy in Michigan, at least, not the good eatin' kind!

Persimmons are kind of early one anyway, though apparently elsewhere in the US March is more common for first flowers. The local plums usually bloom in late January or early February but that's par for that kind of tree. This particular tree has bloomed in January for as long as I've kept track of it (5-10 years), but January 4th seemed like a bit much even to me.

I don't really recall what sun is like.

This is when I REALLY hate the fact that my driver's side window won't actually close on my poor car. Starting to get all mildewy in there.
