I don't even know how to sum up this horror story of a young disabled woman getting absolute shit treatment from United Airlines, not only re: issues getting wheelchairs and handling her carry-on bag (which she could not lift overhead), but the total crap sandwich she was fed when she tried to complain about it. Just, wow.

Date: Apr. 13th, 2010 10:06 pm (UTC)From:Continental have not been bastards to me in terms of service (that I recall, anyway), but their baggage fees for even your first bag are punitive, in my opinion (that was one of the things I liked about Air Canada -- even when all the American airlines were starting to charge, they didn't. Dunno now).
I only flew on Northwest once and it was a big mess. I missed the 6:30 AM flight by like two minutes, and they did manage to rebook me, but that flight was late and "luckily" so was the connecting to DC but I was now at Reagan instead of BWI or something (and let me tell you, getting a hold of your ride to change airports when they're at Four Quarters Farm and you have no cell phone of your own nor anyone's phone number but someone
else's is no easy task -- not that that part was Northwest's fault). The ticketing agent was a little curt with me but in her defence, I was getting hysterical over having missed the flight.
The only United segments I've been on are some Air Canada connecty bits "operated by Star Alliance partner United" and they were long enough ago I can't remember.
The last time I flew on American Airlines was *mumble* thirteen years ago? so I can't say.
Never been on Delta.
