arethinn: animated Space Ghost shaking his head (frustrated (space ghost))
Does anyone else out there who uses Thunderbird find that the latest few minor versions just constantly crash? (currently 68.8.0, but has been going on through two or three 68.x updates, I think; 32-bit TB running on Win10 64-bit) Okay, "constantly" is an exaggeration, but every three hours or so, at a guess. It doesn't visibly choke on processing something and become unresponsive, rather just silently exits while apparently idle with no error message (other than the Crash Reporter). I usually only discover it's crashed again when I go to switch applications and instead of TB running, there's the Crash Reporter in the taskbar. I tried restarting once with add-ons disabled and it still happened, so I don't think that's it. It's really starting to twist my tail.

I'm also using 68.8.0, and haven't had any troubles with it. Sorry to give you data that you probably won't like.

It did that to me quite a bit about three or four years ago. I bailed on it for that reason. If I had to guess, given the size of the Thunderbird user community, it could be either Thunderbird not playing nicely with something at the OS level (maybe ASLR?) or it's a regression that someone keeps reintroducing.
