Personal post on how bad shit be goin' down in Australia, yo.

I tried to make a donation to the Australian Red Cross but it didn't like my form submission for some reason. :(

ETA: Turned out that Wells Fargo was just like "WTH making credit card charges in Australia?" and phoned me this morning to verify that I had done it.

I remember coming home from school one day in early summer and seeing flames above the tops of the trees in the distance that I know were comparatively quite close to the house. At the time I was living not far outside Moncton New Brunswick. *That* was nothing to what is currently going on in Australia.

That people are likening it to the Allied induced Dresden firestorms is... truly horrifying. That brings a whole new perspective to things.

i've driven through the not-so-bad areas around seymour (which were mostly grass not forest) and that's just gone. the yarra ranges area is my prefered summer hide out and well, it's just not there anymore. my partner has a work associate missing, my work has people missing and dead. hell, some of my work's other offices are under threat still.
