Does anyone know how to get Firefox to stop asking whether I want to add outlook.office.com as an "application" for mailto links? I'm never going to want to do that.
No - not the program that actually opens when I click on mailto links. That's Thunderbird and it works properly. What Fx is doing is continually asking if I want to add outlook.office.com into that list of mail handlers. I see this banner notification pretty much whenever I visit my work email/calendar on the web:
