I had one of those days where I had a very low resistance to buying stuff. I went to Hot Topic because it was the quickest place I knew of to pick up a pair of ordinary black fishnet tights (having poked a hole in my last pair the last time I wore them, yet wanting to wear a pair tonight). I was expecting to spend $8.66 ($8.00 plus tax) and go home. Instead I got roped into all kinds of random accessory stuff and wound up spending over $65 because I was picking up things just on the basis that they caught my eye.
This included a pair of black panties with glow in the dark stars (which unfortunately were a set with some magenta and turquoise ones with the same pattern, but I couldn't resist), red and black striped ankle socks, red and black checkered and also black and purple striped armwarmers (first, how often am I really gonna wear these, and second, shouldn't I have just made them myself?), a pair of blue shiny headband things when really I only wanted one but the alternative was a set of red and black, a postcard, a can of "Vamp NRG" which was mostly purchased for the can itself, a Gir pin for![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
kissspooky since they had no Gir dolls (sorry! they did have license plate holders that said "Invader Zim" on top and then "IDIOTIC HUMANS!!" or something on the bottom, but I wasn't sure if you'd like that kind of thing), silver holographic shoelaces to go with my silver holographic Docs, and um... either that's it or I don't remember. And of course, the fishnets I had gone there to get in the first place.
I saw a number of other things that made me go "want!" but I successfully resisted them on the grounds of their relative expense, usefulness, likelihood of actually fitting (in some cases), etc. These included: a Grumpy Bear plushie, an Emily Strange lightswitch plate thingy, purple and black striped wristbands (come on, I would never wear these), a messenger-bag thing with skulls on it (the only one in this list I am seriously considering going back and getting, even if it was $35), some sort of like "bondage pants" which were black denim with red plaid on the inside, a black shirt with purple fishnet sleeves that had three purple glittery stars down the front, shiny purple/blue iridescent nail polish in a star-shaped bottle with a glittery cap (I'd use it, but I should use up what I already have first), a black watch with some blue flames and other designs that was supposed to be blacklight responsive (I might actually go back for this too, if it's not too expensive - my watch has ceased working, not that I use it that much), and a black t-shirt with a graphic of a penguin and the caption "I wish I could fly". I know all this is evil (it's Hot Topic for creepy's sake! what am I thinking??), but like I said.. having one of those days where it's really easy to spend money...
