Just got pretty Jessica Galbreth calendar in the mail today. It's titled "A Little Night Magick". I'm pretty sure this is meant to take off on "A Little Night Music", but is that the name of the whole play, or just the name of a song? And was it Stephen Sondheim? I know bloody well I knew this in high school, but I can't remember it now. (And asking you lot is so much more entertaining than just going and looking it up on the boring old web.)

it was a musical by sondheim and hugh wheeler (sp?). It's cool because the entire thing is in 3/4 time (or close enough to feel like a waltz). It's no "Into the woods" but it's a nice musical.

Ahhh, thank you. (See? I knew asking the lj audience would be more interesting.) We did Into the Woods in my high school as our "March Musical" one year, actually. I like the play, but on a cheapo high school budget, well, it didn't really work. Cinderella's birds, for example... well, don't even ask. Heh.

My opinion may be influenced by the fact that that was one of two shows for which I was assistant stage manager, if I remember right. Most of my time was spent as Props manager.
