Had a very odd, very witchy, almost initiatory dream last night. I tried to remember as much as I could when I woke up by holding still and putting my hands over my eyes to block light, but most of it has vanished. I remember a part where some children came into the backyard, one with a hatchet (which she was holding by the blade, rather than the handle) and another playing a drum (a la "Little Drummer Boy"), singing some song about God or Jesus and attempting to exorcise me like I was a supernatural creature, as opposed to a "sinning human" approach. They moved in a very slow and ghostlike manner, though, and I calmly took the hatchet from the little girl when she realized that her own "magic" wasn't having any effect on me (she had touched the handle to me like a wand and said something, and was slightly surprised when I didn't vanish).
There was another part where the willow wand by my bedside table was referred to as a "horse", something about a silver horseshoe and hoofprints on a mist leading up to the moon, and being suspended upside down while partially awake (? I'm not sure if I was or just dreaming that I was). All of this was taking place mid-morning, so I kept drifting in and out of consciousness to roll over, adjust the pillow, etc., and that confused it even more.
