I really, really need to not be congested.
This is really odd, because it doesn't follow my usual pattern of colds at all. Last Friday night I started getting a scratchy, itchy throat. This is always symptom #1. Saturday I had an actual sore throat, and I was starting to get fatigued. Sunday the sore throat was still there, I was tired as heck, and I was getting mild congestion, but not the sort that makes me need to blow my nose. (Indeed, on Sunday and Monday nights I got away with only using the spray decongestant in one nostril.) Monday I woke up and actually didn't feel too crummy. By the afternoon I was feeling almost normal, almost no congestion, and drinking plenty of fluids was keeping me from actually having a sore throat. As aforementioned, I had to use some decongestant that night, but I slept the whole night without waking (often when I am sick and congested I can't make it but a couple of hours before I wake up and have to blow my nose 50 krillion times). Tuesday I really felt remarkably well. But then Tuesday night, wham, actual congestion, which made me have to use the nose spray on both sides, and today I am constantly blowing my nose.
Really what's weird about this was the day and a half hiatus where I was just fine. Normally there's a crossover day where I have sore throat and congestion, and then the sore throat goes away and I am left with the congestion for several days, which gradually clears up and sometimes leaves me with a cough afterwards. It's normal for me to feel fine except for the congestion for the last half of the time (as I do now). But no. Just when I was thinking I'd kicked it, wham. Fuck. This weekend is a really crummy time to have less than full and normal breathing, what with
enotsola visiting, and it really needs to not be there by next Wednesday when I go in for my fancy immigration medical exams. Not that this isn't clearly a temporary and unremarkable condition, but still.
