Andrew Chumbley, Qutub, Also Called the Point, Fulgur 1998, 80pp [biggus snippus] This item represents a bridge between two major modern occult traditions Fine in Fine DW Order No. 110340 £790

OMFG. You're kidding, right? I am not sure if this is the printing I have (the second one), or if this is the first printing and is therefore worth more than the one I do have. But I am pretty sure I bought it for like £30. Or was it $30? It was something horrendously cheap compared to this. That was in early 2001, though, when Chumbley himself was still alive and kicking (and the pound was less bigger than the dollar than it is today). In fact I would have to re-read the letters, but my recollection is that I bought it directly from him as he "still had a few left". (I actually tried to sell this to Caduceus before, and he made me an offer, and I said "ok I'll accept that, how do you work out payment details?" [since it was the reverse of me buying from him, the instructions were not explicit in the email or anything] and he never replied. So I still have it...)

Daniel Alvin Schulke, Ars Philtron, Concerning the Aqueous Cunning Of the Potion And Its Praxis in the Green Arte Magical, Xoanon 2001 Numbered Limited Edition of 144 copies, this being copy number 3 [snip] F Order No. 300563 £325

I forget if there were two editions of this like with the reprint of Azoetia (where one was limited numbered 44 (?) copies, and the other was a bigger print run of several hundred or so*), or if the 144 is all there are... but again, yikes. What did I pay for this? $75?

* - They advised to send two checks if you wanted to try to get one of the deluxe Azoetias, so I did. My check for the regular edition was returned as requested since I got them in in time to reserve a deluxe copy (helps to be oh.. within a couple hours drive of where Xoanon's American address is, lol). But somehow they got it in their heads that I was to receive a copy of each, so I was surprised when one of the regular ones showed up at my door. I sent it back. I should have kept it, lol. (no... no I shouldn't. I didn't pay for it after all.)

Of course, this is the real stunner:

Andrew Chumbley, Grimoire of the Golden Toad, Number 44 of a limited Ed of 77 [snip] The scarcest and most soughtafter work of modern occultism. Order No. 110325 £1800

No, I don't have one of those, lol. The claim that it is the scarcest and most sought-after is probably not far off, though...

The caduceus books bloke said he wasn't going to cash in on Andrew's death by charging such extortinate amounts. I suppose the greed got to him. We've only got the Azoetia which we bought from him for £125 - is he charging more for that too? (I'm often tempted to sell it, but can't as it's such a lovely book to have and also I think Darren would kill me). I'm sure the others were a lot cheaper a while back!

Dunno. I've seen Azoetia listed in the email not too far in the past, but as I own a copy I haven't paid much attention. I generally only skim the mails as there is a lot of Crowley stuff which doesn't interest me too much, and of course for the past year or two the exchange rate vs. the pound has been abysmal enough that it is just not cost effective for me to be buying things from England anyway.

Check this one out...
