Good: Penne pasta with roma tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, and dressing of olive oil, balsamic vinegar, lemon juice, lemon zest, and fresh basil. Mm. I like being able to cook (although this wasn't terribly hard - boiling the pasta was the main thing that qualified as "cooking"). And I like having a thriving basil plant in our garden.

heron61 and amberite and the third party's wedding in a few weeks. Things were already going to be kind of "squeak by" this month because the bill would come due for both the reservation for the group camping site for the gather, and the car rental from last month. And then, because someone managed to scratch the bumper of my rental car and I had waived the damage coverage (since my own auto insurance would cover, but this is far too silly to make a claim on, especially when I had just done one for the windshield in my own car), I accepted the extra charge of CAD$300 (Enterprise's equivalent of the "deductible") and the possibility of getting whatever they do charge me back from the guy who hit the car (since he left his phone number, but not his insurance information). But the upshot is it's an extra $250+ I hadn't been planning on which I may or may not recover until later. So, ugh.
Ugly: AAAAUGH MY GROWING-OUT UNDERCUT IS AT A LENGTH WHERE IT LIKES TO GO INSIDE MY SHIRT COLLAR INSTEAD OF OUTSIDE AND IT IS DRIVING ME BATSHIT. Plus I really have the same wavy/curly hair texture my dad does, even though it's less apparent, so at the nape of the neck at this length it is all weirdo cowlick-like and stuff, forming little "duck tails" on either side. I've come this close to saying "fuck it" and shaving it off again several times, but I really don't want to lose over a year's worth of growth.
Bizarre: I am already planning menus for both Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners. I dunno, I just kinda find it fun. ("Oh sure, acting's great, but I really wanna plan." "[reading screen] 'Planning'? I hate when he plans. There's never enough buns.") I should go into the professional organizing business. There's one of those, isn't there?
