I use two alarm clocks because I often find it hard to get up in the morning. I usually stir several times before the first one goes off; then it goes off at about 8:38 (I have its little pointer set to slightly after 8:45, but it has never worked right and I always have to second-guess it); then the second one goes off at 8:45-8:50 (it's digital, but it's a timer, so it depends exactly what I set the countdown for the previous night). Sometimes I doze after this for another ten minutes until 9:00, at which point I have to haul my carcass out of bed. All of this adds up to all the dreams I remember taking place roughly between 7 and 9 AM. Sometimes I will remember several, one for each stage, athough they usually fade within a few minutes of waking.

Well, this morning, in stage one (before any clocks) I had one of my standard-issue Michael/Aaron/random-boy-thinks-I-am-attractive dreams. In round two (between clocks one and two) I had a dream that I was telling [livejournal.com profile] enotsola about the dream in round one, just as if I were awake (in person, not online). In fact it was not just that, but I had the feeling that I wanted to tell him about it and therefore I purposely conjured him. (This wasn't exactly conscious control; rather I was dreaming that I had conscious control, but on the next level up, I didn't; really weird "nested" feeling). Round three wasn't directly related but I woke up when I dreamt that the clock on my computer read 2:01 AM, and I had the strong sense that this was because the "real world" clock was now at 9:00 AM and I had to get up. Lo, when I opened my eyes, this was so. (I'm not sure why my brain picked 2 AM, but hey...).
