For those not in the know, this is the final step of all final steps. They are requesting my passport to stamp a special stamp in it that lets me stay in Canada forever and ever. The rest is logistics (moving, etc).

I think she was being facetious, but I bet she wouldn't turn down a visa if someone were just handing one to her.

This is a song/skit by a Vancouver duo named "Local Anxiety". Apparently the issue of the political correctness of "O Canada" (at least in English) is a real if somewhat goofy one, and the lyrics have occasionally been altered to be more inclusive ("e.g. "true patriot love in all of us command" rather than "sons").
