State of West Virginia auctioned on eBay! "By Tuesday evening, with five days to go in the sale of item number 2372779353, 'Entire State of West Virginia,' bidders had bumped the ante up to just $1 short of $100 million."
So did I. "Emperor of West Virginia" of course made me think of Emperor Norton. At first I interpreted this as a kind of fundraiser (suppose someone had really come up with a hundred million!) and thought hey, California should do this! *giggles*
