...ability to view only the posts in a journal which are in X filter. Obviously, viewing only the friends-only posts is the simplest example, but I would like to be able to view only the posts in my "magic" filter, for example. I think the easiest way to do this in the current paradigm is to have separate journals with their friends lists corresponding to the filter members. (Ugh.)

No, you've also misunderstood. Maybe I'm not being clear. I want to view my own journal (or I guess others, but I have no way to know their filter names heh), but see only the posts that were made into the X filter and not my public posts, posts in other filters, etc.

You can do that to create combinations of filter groups as well---say, just read the journals of people in the filters A, B, and C.

1. Go to this page (http://www.livejournal.com/friends/filter.bml) while logged in.
   
2. Click to select names of filters you want to view on one page.
   
3. Make a note/bookmark the URL it sends you to. (It'll look like /users/tass/friends?filter=$SOMENUMBER , with $SOMENUMBER being determined by the combination of filters you've chosen.
   

Lather, rinse, repeat.

Not as convenient as being able to enter nmultiple filter names in the URL a la the method the previous noter posted, but still pretty shiny.

No, that's not what I mean. That shows me is "friends page consisting of only the friends who happen to be in that filter". What I want to do is view posts within a single journal which happen to be locked to whatever filter.
