I tried having blackberry pancakes for breakfast today. By this I mean, I tried mixing blackberries into the batter. Maybe it would have worked if they had been smaller (I think chopping or slicing them would result in lots of little blackberry nodules all over..), but they were all big and lumpy and it didn't turn out too well. On one of the pancakes it made it so thick in the middle that it actually was still batter in the centre when I bit into it, although the edges were cooked. I should have just settled for blackberry preserves. Ah well. Except for that one mishap they were fine, if oddly lumpy. (Mmm, hot blackberries...) Also, I have a chocolate croissant to eat later. Food is good.

Indeed... I don't have any blackberry bushes right around my house, but this area in general is crawling with them and there are plenty of ripe ones come August or so. :9
