Why is my cranial DJ (saw someone else use that phrase and I think I prefer it to "mental jukebox"; hope you don't mind if I yoink it) playing the theme song to Inspector Gadget???
===I will allow someone else to assist you into pain, then...(laughter)
===In terms of the mystical/metaphysical, consider his effectively being an embodiment of "Jack"...as in the Jack of all trades, and master of none. He is in some ways the Fool, but he seems to be like the Magician. One could see him as the Magician in training...having a lot of interesting toys and tools...but not the mastery. He has enough of the Fool to actually survive and get the job done...but it is a very chaotic and improbable result, that seems impossible. The univers simles on him while it is laughing. It is probably because he has the best intentions, even if he does not have all the facts and acts on false perception of the world. It is from his innocence and honorable intent that his successes occur. His widsom and his instincts give hidden helping hands that he is never competely (if ever) aware of the help.
===He could be considered a type of fool...but I am more inclined to think of him in terms of the Magician.
A quick Google on "80s cartoon tarot" (in various permutations) didn't turn up anything. The phrase "cartoon tarot" exists but I don't see anything (on a quick skim) that's like what we're thinking here. I wonder how one would go about such a thing... Is Rainbow Brite the High Priestess? or maybe the Star? Is Skeletor on the Death card? Dr Claw the Devil? Do we have the suits of Thundercats, Care Bears, Beverly Hills Teens and GI Joe? It makes my thinker hurt!
