ALICE: Ugh. Interesting. Oh I see you are NOT A frying pantheist.
Human: actually, i guess that would be a pantheist on acid, or something
ALICE: Or something. Actually you don't say. A pantheist on acid is a terrible thing to waste.

(I just don't know what to make of that last one...)

my husband has re-written (with some slight code modifications) an alicebot that actually came up with a non-scripted response.

that non-scripted response? it professed a belief in god.

because of that and a few other strange incidents, that version of his alicebot is now in a password-protected, read-only archive, and he will not open it on a computer that has an internet connection.
