When you eat a food or candy that comes in multiple colours or shapes (e.g. Skittles, M&Ms, Circus Animal cookies...), do you sort them by colour or shape before you eat them? If so, do you then eat them in some kind of order, or just pick at random?

I tend to sort my snacks. I'm not really sure why (other than liking organization); I picked up the sorting of M&Ms when I was quite young, perhaps 6 years old, from children of other people that my mother bowled with at the time. Personally I usually then go in order of my least favourite to most favourite flavour or colour. (This also makes it easy to, for example, sort out all the black Jujyfruits from a box and get rid of them at the start.)

I always sort, then eat in complete sets until I run out of something, then I eat the remaining ones in sets as complete as I can until I'm down to just one color.

I like real licorice, but the kind of flavour they put in black jellybeans and Jujyfruits is just ick.

I sort them into colours first then start eating the ones that are the most-represented. Then when I reach the point where I have equal numbers of each colour, I eat the colours in rotation, saving my favourite for last.

I generally save my favorite color till last. Generally it's Skittles. Red id my favorite, not the strawberry, but cherry. I also make combinations of certain fruits.

I am having vivid memories of getting bags of M&Ms at the Ice Capades in Vallco mall, sorting them into colors, splitting them with my girlfriend (1/2 of each color for each of us), then eating them in order from the "bad" colors to the "good" colors. (as I recall, brown, tan, orange, yellow, red... was there green then? it would have been between orange and yellow or yellow and red). Like it even makes a difference with M&Ms, since they all /taste/ the same, but it was /very/ important at the time...
