Buffalo's current average processing times

50% finalized in 24 months
70% finalized in 30 months
80% finalized in 32 months

Dating from my "Acknowledgement of Receipt", which is when they consider themselves to have started processing my application, I have only just passed the 24-month mark. I guess this means that all the people I have been seeing with similar timelines getting their visas during the past 6 months are in the lucky 50%, and I am in the loser 50%. Grr.

so i think i missed this, but why Buffalo? is it the only processing center?

You can apply to the visa processing center in either the country of your citizenship, or the country of your residence (if that's different). For me, those are the same, so yes, Buffalo is the only option.
