Hi there, I Friended you after I saw you on jarandhal's Lj. I noticed you lived in Cupertino and went to DeAnza - I lived at 7868 McClellan Rd. from 1959 when I was 3 (and where the college is now was all apricot orchards) to 1966 when the college was beginning to be built.

Actually I've never lived in Cupertino, only Sunnyvale. I noticed you'd friended me and looked at your elementary schools and didn't recognize them at all, had to look them up, hehe (although I do recognize McClellan Rd, obviously).
I was one of the first kids at Faria Elementary when it was new-built - that was when I was in the middle of second grade.
I've seen that area on Google Earth, and wow, it's so different. When I was little, mine was one of the only three 'development' houses along that road; everything else was Old California farmhouses, walnut and apricot orchards, and here and there, huge old Victorian mansions probably left over from the Gold Rush era.

I didn't start elementary school until 1983. Wow.
