You would look absolutely stunning in it, but not being a millionaire, I can definitely see not getting it.

Kat can do that, and way cheeper. She also does commissions, since the fabric shop customers kept asking. (Friend of Jon's, followed random chain of posts here and fell in love with the gown also)

1675 pounds...that is about 800 kilograms?

Yes, it's a dress for extreme elven weightlifters.

I have fantasies about big tough Elven waitlifter women in expensive, heavy dresses, bench pressing me, and shaking the measly pennies out of my pockets.

But doesn't everyone?

Those are stunning dresses.

I see they have one named after me. *grin*

If you're desperate, you could always make a knock-off version of it. The embroidery would probably be too hard if you don't already embroider, but you could probably find a pattern that looks similar and go from there. It's doable - I've seen inexperienced people make incredible dresses like this.

The only thing is, I'd skip the excessive amounts of satin. It needs a more flat material at least mixed in, to offset it, otherwise I find dresses like these just look too shiney and fake.

Yah, I'm looking at it in more detail now, and if you have a sewing machine, I'm sure you could do it. It's basically a corset with a flared skirt, with sleaves added.

It would suck not to have the pretty swirlies on the trail though.

I don't, and I don't sew beyond being able to sew on buttons and the like. My mother is the SCA laurel seamstress, not me. Heh.
