Had another good time at the Carpe Noctem meetup in San Francisco this evening. I went to Ancient Ways in Oakland beforehand, and somehow I was expecting more (not a place I'm going to bother making the expedition to go back to), but I did score two small green glass votive holders and a hazelwood wand which coincidentally is of the "traditional" length for me. Around twilight we were sitting near this statue of Gandhi by a ferry terminal, and I took a few low-light pictures:

Yeah, AW isn't as impressive as, say Psychic Eye was, but there are so few actual metaphysical shows around nowadays... AW gets most of their business from the hoodoo and afro-diasporic crowds/religions. If you ever need something from AW and don't want to make the trek, I spend weekends in Berkeley and AW is only about 10 minutes away so I can do quick runs over there.

When I was at nursing school in Oakland, I finally got down to AW... after everything I'd heard, I was expecting soooo much more! Glad I'm not the only one to have felt that way! :)
