This little character does NOT make me want to buy your phone. It's creepy. It's a brain slug that happens to be pink instead of acid green. If that echo says something about the phone, I even more don't want to buy it. Gaaah. *heebie-jeebies*

Also, the placement of that left hand? Was probably not intended to be sexually suggestive, but in my pre-caffeinated state, my first thought as my sleep-fogged eyes saw the thing was: "What is that weird little purple creature, and... holy crap, does it have a dick sticking out?! Oh, no, that's just the other hand."

The idea of this thing being sexually aroused by the phone does not improve it. Not at all.

Gaaahhh! This thing is icky enough when it's just a visual. I'm not sure I want to hear what kind of noises it can make.

We saw this commercial on TV last night. I don't think the thing makes any noise. Definitely not speech, maybe not even squeaks or anything. But yeah, the whole look and motion of the thing is not inspiring me to run out and get this product.

Hehe, that was weeks or months ago now. I don't even remember where I picked up the reference - possibly one of the language blogs I follow. (http://www.inteng.com.au/semantic_octopus.htm probably being what they linked to, though.)
