Holy shit, regex. Back in August I got my GAIQ cert (required for my job). I studied up on regex, I mean, like, I spent HOURS studying the shit out of regex. Cause I had nightmares about the horror stories I read about getting tons of regex questions on the GAIQ. I hated regex. Regex ate my balls and made me sweat blood and tears but by all that is good and holy and right in the world, I was READY for it when I took my GAIQ.

I got one regex question. About how to exclude an IP range. ONE.

I've only had to wrestle with it once in my life so far, to try to locate "forward slash not immediately followed by $c" in big files of bibliographic data. According to my notes, I used =245 ..\$a.*/[^c] (=245 being a code that appeared at the start of every line where I wanted to search for this string) but I have little idea how I arrived there even though it was only a little over 3 months ago now.
