From Satellite News:

You-know-what may have finally frozen over. TVGuide.com is reporting that Universal will be re-releasing Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Movie on DVD on May 6th. While we haven’t received confirmation of this ourselves, this news comes from our old friend David Lambert, TVGuide.com Content Contributor and News Director of TVShowsOnDVD.com, so we’re pretty confident of its accuracy.

The new DVD will once again be a bare-bones release, with only the original theatrical trailer thrown in as an extra. But it’s reported that the movie itself will be a new anamorphic widescreen transfer with an English Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound mix and a French Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo track.

Yee-haw! I have the movie because I bought "The Movie and a Chunk" when they had carved up the Deep 13 set and were selling it off (so I bought an expensive, kitschy chunk of styro about three inches cubed, but hey. It's MSTie cred), but it's on VHS, one of the few things I still turn my VCR on for.

I would say "I guess Universal knows what side their bread is buttered on", except that I really don't think this is that big a slice of their profits. But yay anyway! *pencils in the date*

Denizens of the internet are generally hateful toward everything they don’t absolutely love. What happened to “it’s not for me,” or “I have different tastes.” No way, man. It’s all “die from 1000 cancers” this and “suffocate on your own cockandballs” that. Calm down internet. Not everything is a fight. Walk away from the sites, and songs, and comics you don’t like just like you would change the channel on TV without going to the producer of the show’s house and throwing lit shit bags at him. Learn the difference between “dislike” and “want the person that made this to feel pain and sorrow.”

I love HijiNKS ENSUE so much.

Also this:

The honest truth is, these “haters” that rip people to shreds for trying to do something are the same people that want SO BADLY to post their song on Youtube, or their comic online but are far to afraid to deal with the scorn from people JUST LIKE THEMSELVES! The snake eats its own head, entropy reverses, the universe explodes and Data, Riker, Crusher, Geordi and Troi are right back at that card game with a nagging feeling of deja vu.

"Cause and Effect" is one of my favourite episodes of TNG.

I'm not sure how to feel about the fact that I can name the episode from that description.

How's that for a search box entry?

I suspect many of you are sufficiently geeky to know what it was I was looking for, though.
