1. What bill do you hate paying the most?
Crash course in being me: Paying bills is kind of fun. I like saying "ha ha, now I owe you nothing". I like the sense of responsibility. I am a Virgo on crack.
2. Where was the last place you had a romantic dinner?
Um, have I ever had one of these?
3. Do you regret losing your virginity to who you lost it to?
Mmm, no. I don't think so. It was what it was.
4. If you could go back and change one thing what would it be?
Said "wait, stop, Canada is great, but let's reconsider in light of me not giving up a good job" WRT when I got my permanent residency visa for Canada almost two years go. I don't regret what happened, but it would have saved like ten grand and
enotsola and I would likely have already been married if we'd stopped at that point of no return and thought about it rather than charging ahead with the plans we'd made three years prior.
5. Name of your first grade teacher?
Mrs. Fox. No idea what her given name was.
6. What do you really want to be doing right now?
Something that involves my flesh and
enotsola's flesh.
7. What did you want to be when you were growing up?
I'm not still growing up?
Beats the crap out of me. I no longer remember most of them. I think when I was 11 I wanted to be an interior designer. I've never really been one of those people who has a career ambition. I just want to have enough money to be comfortable.
8. How many colleges did you attend?
Two. A community college for GE and a university for major.
9. Why did you choose the shirt that you have on right now?
It's warm and fleecy. Even with the heat, my bedroom still gets pretty cold in the winter. I often feel the need to wear two layers and drink a hot drink when sitting in front of the computer.
10. What are your thoughts on gas prices?
A pain in the rear, but bearable since everything in the house (except the almost-never-used 1968 3/4 ton Dodge pickup) is 35+ mpg. Wishing we had come up with viable alternative fuels two decades ago.
11. If you could move anywhere and take someone with you where would it be?
I like where I am. Maybe move over a few miles into Los Altos. Of course, affording such a house is a joke.
12. First thought when the alarm went off this morning?
*zonk*. My alarm is set early enough so that I can doze off and wake up again a few times before 11 AM, which is when I really need to get up.
13. Last thought before going to sleep last night?
Um. *blush* You probably don't really want to know. Has to do with the Severus-Snape-copy that hangs around me as a muse. (By "blush" i don't mean something sexual, just that it sounds very odd outside a hp-filter post.)
14. Favorite underwear?
Um.. I wear very similar black cotton pants/knickers/underpants and black bra pretty much every day. I am such a difficult fit that when I find something, I buy a bunch.
(15?)
16. What errand/chore do you despise?
Washing dishes by hand. I refuse to ever again live somewhere there is not a dishwasher.
17. If you didn't have to work, would you volunteer?
Possibly. Volunteer to do what?
18. Get up early or sleep in?
By what definition? My alarm goes off at 10 and I generally get up by 10:45, but that's because I work 12:30 - 9:30 PM, so I don't go to bed until 2 at least, sometimes not until 4. "Sleeping in" is until noon or so, and yes, I do that on the weekends. "Sleeping in" to me is relative to one's usual rise time, not some kind of absolute moral judgement whereby if you sleep past 9 you're indolent, or whatever crap.
19. What is your favorite cartoon character?
Um.. I watch just about no TV. Brak?
20. Favorite thing to do at night with a girl/guy?
Um, in what context? Honestly. All other things being equal, likely, flirt, but this is my way of establishing social dominance (I almost always come out on the bottom since almost no one is attracted to me). See next question.
21. Have you found real love yet?
Absotively.
22. When did you first start feeling old?
A few years ago, but I felt it very acutely recently when I went to a gather and then out to a club, and not only was I several years older than everyone in our group, but it was rapidly apparent that no one was interested in even being near me, never mind having any attraction to me whatsoever. I am no longer in the "young pretty magical" group. Six or seven years have passed me by.
(23?)
24. Your favorite lunch meat?
Um, wha? Turkey? Sashimi, actually, probably.
25. What do you get every time you go into Costco?
I don't have a Costco membership.
26. Beach or lake?
Er. Lake? What? What are you really asking?
27. Do you think marriage is an outdated ritual?
No, but it depends on what exactly you mean. Joining of family resources because of two (or more) people who have decided to do so and/or parent a child is probably pretty universal. Assuming these people have to be of a certain (opposite) gender, or all kinds of other crap is .. something else again.
28. Do you own property?
House? No, although I'll inherit what we have when my parents die.
Car? that's the biggest piece of property I have so far.
Everything else is just numbers in a computer.
29. Favorite guilty pleasure?
Um, I dunno. Slash fiction? This is kind of lost on me. I can't think of anything off the top of my head that I take pleasure in that no other sizable body does and thus I might feel "guilty" about.
30. Favorite movie you wouldn't want anyone to find out about?
Um.. I watch so few movies this question is just about meaningless.
31. What's your drink?
Huh? Irish whiskey? Mead? Red or dark ale? Sake? Single malt Scotch? Rum? Uhh... I drink just about anything if it's not fruity and sweet. A wuss I am not. I can down a whole bottle of wine, and a good half of a bottle of your average spirit.
32. Cowboys or Indians?
Um, ew, neither?
33. Cops or robbers?
Um, ew, neither?
34. Who from high school would you like to run in to?
I already ran into him at the 10-year reunion two years ago. Didn't help. Not sure running into him again would do.
35. What radio station is your car radio tuned to right now?
Um, 97.7 = 104.5 = KFOG, which is surprisingly unannoying? But mostly I have a CD in it, not the radio tuning.
36. Norm or Cliff?
I haven't watched Cheers in so long that this question is meaningless.
37. 'The Cosby Show' or 'The Simpsons'?
Simpsons, I guess.
38. Worst relationship mistake that you wish you could take back?
I haven't made any such mistakes.
39. Do you like the person that sits directly across from you at work?
She's OK. She has some annoying habits, like repeating the same phrase over and over even when not really at all applicable (the phrase of choice this year is apparently "life is good"), but overall we get along.
40. What famous person would you like to have dinner with?
Hell no, no one. I would totally make a fool of myself.
41. Indoors or outdoors?
For... what? Generally outdoors, but I'm not that brave about outdoor sex, for example.
42. Have you ever crashed your vehicle?
Into what? I've rear-ended people twice, although not that violently. The last time was in Feb 2000, so I think I've learned my lesson since then.
43. Have you ever had to use a fire extinguisher for its intended purpose?
No.
44. Last book you read?
Re-reading Harry Potter for research purporses (o noes! geek alert!), so... Chamber of Secrets.
45. Do you have a teddy bear?
Not any more.
46. Strangest place you have ever brushed your teeth?
Um... I have never brushed them anywhere I consider at all strange.
47. Somewhere in California you've never been and would like to go?
Methuselah, that knobcone (?) pine whose exact location in the White Mountains they keep secret for fear of vandalism.
48. Do you go to church?
No.
49. At this point in your life would you rather start a new career or a new relationship?
Umm... I want to say career, because I have no grounds on which to start a new relationship and besides, how could I (every "liaison" I've ever had was instigated by me; that is, not even my soulmate
enotsola found me worth pursuing), but practical considerations say I've already given that up once and it would be folly to do it again. Soo... still career. I could more easily get a job than anything else.
50. How old are you?
29.
1. What bill do you hate paying the most?
Crash course in being me: Paying bills is kind of fun. I like saying "ha ha, now I owe you nothing". I like the sense of responsibility. I am a Virgo on crack.
