Pictures of people in their bathrobes or whatever, meh. A few of the photomanips are actually kinda funny, though.

From the plutonica.net blog, this sounds interesting:

Over at Rune Soup Gordon introduced a book game with the following guidelines:

How would you introduce someone to magic using only books? He or she has a month in a lake house and will read whatever you tell them in the exact order that you tell them to. Not even any peeking at other books on the list.

I'll have to think about my own response, but in the meantime I'm interested in yours. Feel free to exapnd a bit from "magic" per se into your personal spiritual path or whatever. (Note that the books certainly need not strictly be on such topics; Psyche's take started out with Baudelaire.)

When you see this, post a poem in your journal.

Sure, why not.

Where the Sidewalk Ends

There is a place where the sidewalk ends
And before the street begins,
And there the grass grows soft and white,
And there the sun burns crimson bright,
And there the moon-bird rests from his flight
To cool in the peppermint wind.

Let us leave this place where the smoke blows black
And the dark street winds and bends.
Past the pits where the asphalt flowers grow
We shall walk with a walk that is measured and slow,
And watch where the chalk-white arrows go
To the place where the sidewalk ends.

Yes we'll walk with a walk that is measured and slow,
And we'll go where the chalk-white arrows go,
For the children, they mark, and the children, they know
The place where the sidewalk ends.

If you had me alone, locked up in your house for twenty-four hours and I had to do whatever you wanted me to, what would you have me do?

1. You can ONLY answer Yes or No.

2. You are NOT ALLOWED to explain ANYTHING unless someone messages or comments you and asks. -- and believe me, the temptation to explain some of these will be overwhelming nothing is exactly as it seems.

Interests meme, last seen on [livejournal.com profile] estaratshirai. Sure, sounds fun; I think my interests (and of course, flist) have changed some since the last time I did this. Pick five of my interests and I'll see if I have anything apposite to say about them. Hee.

Okay I am an idiot. Never mind then.

Dear Santa...

Dear Santa,

This year I've been busy!

Last Sunday I gave [livejournal.com profile] the_misha a kidney (1000 points). Last Thursday I caught a purse-snatcher who stole [livejournal.com profile] rebelfilms's purse (30 points). In March I bought porn for [livejournal.com profile] estaratshirai (-10 points). In January I put money in [livejournal.com profile] blueeyesblazing's expired parking meter (14 points). In April I set [livejournal.com profile] tiggrrl's puppy on fire (-66 points).

Overall, I've been nice (968 points). For Christmas I deserve a Lego set!

Sincerely,
starlightforest

*is horrified by setting a puppy on fire* That should be worth a lot more minus. Maybe we're talking "by accident". But why is buying someone pr0n a minus? Was it not to your taste, [livejournal.com profile] estaratshirai? :P

What has surprised you the most about me (if anything) since joining my flist er, since "friending me" would make more sense? Was anything completely unexpected or have I always fit the picture of me you have in your head? Post this in your own journal and see how you have surprised people!

R2 = Qui-Gon with Yoda a close third? That's some satisfying results, that is.

Ha ha, really? Well, the black cloak is pretty cool; just so long as I don't get set upon by some bloody great snake.

That quiz was really amusing and well-written, actually. I recommend it.

Apparently I got the wireless mouse I am using right now. Wow, was it that long ago?

7/3/06
No posts. On 7/5/06 I was applying for jobs in Ontario.

7/3/05
No posts. On 7/1/05 I posted a link to a cool APOD picture and talked about my net worth. (That post is filtered to a small subset; sorry if you can't see it.) After the big spend-fest that was moving to Canada and back in 2006 and having no job for eight months that year, it's taken me three years to recover to the same point. Almost exactly three years, in fact; last month I again crossed the same threshold mentioned in that post.

Burbling about American and Canadian citizenship tests.

7/3/03
No posts. On 7/2/03 a boring sooper seekrit message to [livejournal.com profile] tyrsalvia about some CDs I left at her house.

7/2/02
No posts. I started this journal in April 2002 but the posting is pretty spotty until December 2002. There aren't any posts at all July-September.

The idea is to go here: http://longboredsurfer.com/charts.php, and for every year you were in high school, pick your favorite then and now, and also the worst one.

Whoops, I mised out worst. Ah well; this is already kinda too long.

So there you have it. Note the trend of continual decrease in the currency of my knowlege about pop music. It didn't stop there, which is why I just don't get most of Weird Al's last two albums.

I gave a gift to someone else who posted one of these (shh, you know who you are), so I figure it's okay to post, even if I feel kind of funny about it.
