I did my best with the help of this page to make sure I was getting all the funny inflections right. This passage by chance seems to be blessedly free of odd mutations of the words, which I would have had a hard time figuring out. I couldn't find a word to mean "its" so I just went with word order to indicate the possession and hope that the context makes it clear. I used a Sindarin dictionary program available on this page to help with the translation.

Overall I hope it's not bad. It'll have to do unless someone can cook me up something better in the next couple days.

Didn't know there was such a place. However, since this is for the purpose of crafting a magical charm-item, having to do it myself is probably better, even if less perfect than it could be.

I'm not sure about the existence of a word meaning "its". There's "her" and "his", but... Here's a line from the soundtrack of RotK (http://www.elvish.org/gwaith/movie_soundtrack_rotk.htm): Sin eriol natha tûr în úgarnen --- "Only thus its power will be undone" is the translation. "Sin eriol" is "only thus", as they are repeated in the next line of the song. "natha" is na--to be, future tense, hence "will be". "tû&r" is translated as "mastery/victory" in a dictionary I had downloaded way back, I guess it's the same as the one you used. The placement of "în" here tells me that it's a possessive, as the word itself--like "nîn"---mine or "lî"n"---yours, or (I've seen it used as) hers. So maybe, finish that line with ...dúath în?

I have a Sindarin textbook at home (I don't remember where I got it from, but I'll give you the link if I find it) that I'll check for this.

The mutations, lenitions as they seem to be called, are indeed confuzzzzzling.

That's a pretty cool sight...I was perusing it last night trying to "de-angst"... I'm still going through "stuff" at home... will it ever end! Probably not for awhile. Anyways, it's a good site for a "Tolkien-phile" like me...and you.
