Shmi is not really a pronouncable name. Star Wars names aren't really meant to be pronouncable. They just have to look good in print!

Yes, but that's part of their language. And it's not really spelled Lakshmi, we just spell it that way to try to convert the sounds into english letters. As has been known for years, the Jedi spoke english, and Shmi is just a silly name. I had a hard time not calling her Mrs. Smee, to go with Mr. Smee, which was just wrong.

WOW is that a tongue-twister. I didn't know, uh, Hawaiian dragons could become Jedi! (at least not as a player race, anyway.)
