"For the win". I'm not sure what piece of internet/gamer/whatever culture it comes from, although I imagine it's related to the use of the phrase in sports and racing ("they're neck-and-neck on the home stretch, and it's so-and-so for the win!").
FTL = "for the lose" in the same context.

I think "for the win" predates the internet and has its origins on the old game show "Hollywood Squares", as in "I'll take Wally Cox for the win."

I knew it predated the internet; what I meant was, I don't know where on the internet it first entered the common 'net lingo.
