Spotted in Kitchener when I was there for Christmas. (The weird bar thing across the bottom of the picture is the framing of one of the windowpanes at a Tim Hortons.)



enotsola and I were disappointed to see a middle-aged couple without any visible geekiness step out of this thing, because that meant it would have been weird and awkward to strike up a conversation.

Well, I mean, it is in focus, and other people seem to be getting it fine. "I can't read it" is cool, but "it's too blurry" doesn't seem warranted. *shrug*

The picture *is* somewhat blurry. It was taken from behind a car window, so that would effect the carity regardless of the focus.

As for the fineness of the comment, let's let the owner of the journal decide that.

Yes, still a window, and yes, the picture is still somewhat blurry. Taking pictures from behind windows rarely yields stelar results.

Although I probably look like one of those middle-aged-people without visable geekiness, my geekitude is surely growing by leaps and bounds. Due in large part to my willingness to play in the geeky sandbox, and learn from my younger compatriots.

well Dr. Who was pretty popular back in the day among otherwise non-geeky Brits, so maybe it is just a part of happy childhood memories or something?

Could be, although that depends on when "back in the day" is (HHG is 1979ish, I think?). Anyway, I'm not saying they weren't geeks (although it's also possible they might have borrowed a child's car or something), but that their lack of personal "geek vibe" plus the age difference merely meant it would have felt very strange to go up to them and talk to them about it.
