So sorry :( We had that problem for basically all of August up here, with fire smoke coming down from BC and up from the Yosemite area, and it lingered on until mid-October when the rain finally started happening. Thankfully the fires weren't nearby us this year, though they got awfully close last year. (Some people I know in Portland were required to evacuate, and a few more that almost got evacuated.)
It seems like yearly wildfires are the west coast's answer to the east coast hurricane season these days.
