WTH weather? I was confused enough when it splattered rain on and off and there was a lightning stroke as I was driving [livejournal.com profile] enotsola home from the airport tonight, but it's apparently forecast to be similar weather for several days?

Trust me, this is not normal for us. This is not a time of year we get four days of rain predicted; June through October or November are generally dry and it's rare even to have a late straggler of a light shower this late in the year. And thunderstorms are unusual period, because usually when it's wet here, it's too cold to also foster thunder conditions. Occasionally we will get one in a severe winter storm, but it's rare. We don't have four days in a row thought likely to have thunderstorms. We just don't, especially not in early summer.

Climate change, wot?

Climate change indeed.

I'm currently in the small town of Debden Saskatchewan, northers prairie country. We had snow on May 20th, and frost Monday night (it dipped to about -3 C). When talking to the locals here, they were saying it's been at least 15 degrees below normal on average... for the entirety of May...
