You know something, I am Really, Really Tired of having some idea or thing that I think is cool, and wanting to show it off, and getting reactions ranging from "oh, whatever" to an active shooting-down by some Big Gun Who Knows What They Are Talking About (I mean, someone I perceive this way, as opposed to just "by popular opinion").

===The problem is not withthe tools, it is in how some peopel use them. It is good to know that they are unable ot use the tools, and are keeping themselves from temptation.
===Keep up the good work...(smile)

In that case, they think that in order to be considered adults, they have to chuck everything that goes with being a kid. In this, it seems that to be taken seriously, they think they need to chuck everything that could be considered fun.

Date: Dec. 5th, 2003 04:05 pm (UTC)From:I think that thinking of what I'm talking about as "possibly fun" is a bit of an error in itself... like a glamourbomb, for example, the sort of stories and exchanges in a "special place" that I'm taking about could be uplifting and a bit escapist, but that's not where their essence should lie. I'm trying to get at a deeper mode of expression and experience.
Thanks for the input.

Date: Dec. 5th, 2003 04:00 pm (UTC)From:Making Myth the way you seem to be talking about is a huge part of Irish lore and history, and I often wonder how big a part the Tuatha de Danaan and/or the Sidhe (if they're separate races) had in encouraging that activity. Some of the legends seem to indicate they participated in it themselves and with a great deal of enthusiasm.
I don't know how you'll take this. I don't mean to be negative in any way. Perhaps you can try not to put so much belief into some big guns knowing much of anything.
P.S: I really like the new name you're using. (Ivy Tanith Ullanna, just to be clear.)
