interesting windfall
Jan. 12th, 2006 02:47 pmI'd forgotten that I would get my unused vacation time converted to pay when I leave my employment. That's about $1300 they're going to owe me if I make March 31 my last day. (true, it's taxable like all the rest, so it nets to less, but still) My dad says it's possible (though unlikely) that they will similarly owe me pay for my other two types of leave (personal leave, somewhat unlikely; sick leave, very unlikely indeed). That would be a serious bundle of cash since I'll have over five weeks' worth of sick leave by that time. I don't think I should hold my breath on that one, though. Maybe I can still afford to go to Dancing even if I do have to fly there from Toronto instead of San Francisco. (That assumes 1. that it's happening, although I haven't heard different, and 2., that I am either not yet working or that I have a rather flexible employer.)
