I just counted stamps in my passport.

Given an average ticket price (I'm guessing, as it has varied rather wildly over the past 7.5 years), I've spent over $12,000 just flying to Canada.

That doesn't count the times I've paid for [livejournal.com profile] enotsola to fly here, which are not as many, but even if I am conservative and estimate 1/3 as many, still.

In a material sense, I could have had two cars sitting out there in the driveway!

...but what's a car without a beloved in it to go driving around the country with, anyway?

redwood girl says:
you know the sign in the airplane washrooms that says "as a courtesy to the next passenger may we suggest you use your towel to wipe off the basin"? i skipped like a whole line and completely misread that as "as a courtesy to the next passenger may we suggest you use your brain".

Three good things I learned today:

1. My mother can get me meads and ciders from Rabbit's Foot, a place local enough it is ridiculous to have them ship to me, but whose store hours mostly conflict with my work hours, because either somehow her (SCA) scribal meetings are there or someone else who goes to scribal works there. "Didn't you know?" she said. "Just give me money and I can get things for you when I go to scribal [every other Thursday]."

2. The library's cataloger has failed to get her position reclassified (read: shifted up to a higher level on the salary scale) even after an appeal, and, dissatisfied, she has announced she will be leaving possibly as early as next August (she is sticking out a minimum of 20 years in order to get certain separation benefits). This bodes well for me getting back into Technical Services in one way or another.

3. The co-worker who said he would "help me" inventory all the Dell service tags on the library computers turns out to have done the whole thing himself over my vacation, saving me a significant amount of work (not to mention crawling on the floor) and making room for more of the ol' eljay today.

I must be missing something obvious. I know Semagic can post to multiple journals simultaneously. What I can't figure out is how to make it distinguish between accounts with the same name on different servers (that is, so three "starlightforest"s appear in the "Post To Multiple Journals" box). Halp?

For that matter, how can I make it forget tass, which no longer exists? I can't log in as tass so as to use "hide this username" even (which isn't really what I mean, to begin with).
