cluegirl posted some neat words and phrases in other languages for certain very specific things. Get a load of this one:

Vovohe Tahtsenaotse - Cheyenne, US: to prepare the mouth before speaking by moving or licking one's lips.

I'm probably pronouncing it all wrong, but I really love the sound of what I think it sounds like.


ETA: Now I know I'm pronouncing it wrong. The stops p, t, k are apparently unaspirated in Cheyenne, which as an English speaker is something I have always found impossible to do.

náohkêsáa'oné'seómepêhévetsêhésto'anéhe, meaning 'I truly do not pronounce Cheyenne well.'
