Just had the weirdest dream where John Travolta was being inducted into some kind of fraternal society. They did the kind of salute where like a dozen guys facing each other in two lines hold up swords to form an arch/tunnel to walk under. An officer of some type said "Trovair, Paul shall pass. Only the brave!" and everyone else responded "Only the brave!"

Don't ask me about the name. It was In The Script that it was really John Travolta. I wondered if maybe I'd managed to dream his middle name, but turns out that's Joseph.

It’s funny how seeing things can be a visual trigger for suddenly remembering a dream you had otherwise forgotten. I had already remembered the one this morning with crows and the night sky and Michael (I said get out of my head AUGH), but until I scrolled past this on my dash I did not remember that earlier this morning I had a very bizarre dream about Gamzee.

Firstly it was bizarre because I do not read Homestuck and basically everything I know comes from what the few Homestuck types I follow post (not much) and that one time I got sucked into http://mspaintadventures.wikia.com/ for a few hours off one simple question of "what the hell are quadrants anyway" because it is a wiki and wikis are like that. So just the fact that he featured at all was pretty weird, but whatever.

Secondly it was bizarre because it was the type of dream I occasionally have where XYZ fictional character gets all affectionate and tender with me. Rarely are there actual sexytiems although there have been some occasions where goings-on were sufficiently intense that I would suddenly wake up feeling quite physically aroused. I don’t quite remember if this was one of those instances, whether the moaning noises were only in the dream or whether sound was actually coming out of my mouth (my husband tells me I sometimes make whimpering noises in my sleep when I am having one of these dreams). But whatthefuck brain. Gamzee. WHY GAMZEE.

He was an extremely good kisser and his touches were out of this world. Clothes on, I might add. Intense, engaged eye-gazing, not soppy googly eyes, but, like, heat. and light. or more like dark. dark light. I wrote that phrase in a fanfic once trying to get across some kind of image of blackpurpleradiantflamedark and my beta was like "wat, oxymoron, delete" and I refused to take her advice. So, if you understand the image, that.

The points of his horns were sharp, very sharp. Pinprick sharp. Filed hardened steel sharp. The slightest touch and you will bleed sharp. And I did, so I did. A drop running down my finger. (Red, of course.) He smiled, if you can call it that, or at least I felt it more than I saw it, something about a shifting of body, because I think he was standing behind me holding me at that point and I was reaching up backwards - he was significantly taller than me (5'4") - and pricked my finger (on purpose? by accident? just wondering what would happen? not sure).

whiskey tango foxtrot this dream i cannot even. i mean. GAMZEE. wha. O.o

My brain is very weird. Passing in and out of the same dream for about two hours this morning (between 8 and 10 AM), one of the people featured at some kind of outdoor picnic or convention I was at was a "Bill Gates, Jr." (alongside the Bill Gates we all know, who was his father). I was just checking now to see if there actually was such a person, and sure enough, there is, but not quite as my brain constructed it -- Microsoft's Bill Gates is a III and his father is the Jr. In the dream this notional son (who would be Bill Gates IV if he existed in the real world) he was tallish and slender and a bit gawky, as 17-year-old boys will be, with a shaggy 70s-ish cut of light brown hair, and apparently I desperately wanted to get my fingers into it (this sounds like my M.O.; I have a big weakness for shaggy haircuts on young men). What is really amusing me is that although I had not seen the following picture before, I apparently managed to de-age him quite well and he looked almost exactly like this.

Dear Murky Depths of My Mind:

STOP DREAMING ABOUT MICHAEL, OKAY. Once a month or so is plenty. Less would be appreciated, but there's certainly no need to do it two or three times a week. (I may not have proof about that third incident, but I have strong suspicions, and you've been irrefutably caught at it twice.) In the immortal words of Dave Coulier, CUT. IT. OUT.

P.S. Moar stars and Severus Snape plzkthxbai.

So, [livejournal.com profile] lupabitch... how about if you tell me why I was dreaming about you bringing a small packet of joints to my very large 9th-floor hotel room (what hotel, I dunno; one over a cityscape that looked like a postcard, though) that seemed to be doing double duty as one of those penthouse tavern/restaurants, with a big glass and brass contraption in the middle, absolutely carpeted in bottles of variously coloured liquids, that lesser men might call a bar; and for some reason quietly hiding them away and suggesting that you and I sneak back downstairs so as not to get caught when it transpired that my ex was holed up in the bedroom with the door closed smoking something else (I smelled nothing; you didn't identify it for me, but you could smell it. Lupine senses I guess ;) ).

I have the wackiest dreams around 10-11 AM...

I had the oddest dream sensation this morning.

I woke up briefly at 8:15 AM (my usual time is 10:00 and I don't generally drag my carcass out of bed until at least 10:30). I looked at the clock. I then slipped half back into a dream state, and opened five or six tabs in my brain (yes, my brain is Firefox), each of which contained a different Sirius/Lucius fic (...wut? I don't even read that pairing. maybe I should?), to "save for later" which meant to read when I was fully asleep and dreaming again.

I don't, (un)fortunately, remember anything after that.

It was the "opening tabs in my brain" that was the really weird part. I can't even begin to describe the sensation of... brainlayers. Or something.

Something about seeing today's APOD reminded me that I was dreaming about stars this morning. Sirius. Regulus. (no, no, I really mean the masses of incandescent gas that are millions of miles away, you sillies.) Vega. Constellation Aquila. Pleiades. Constellation Orion. Canopus. (odd, that -- not a star that is usually in my consciousness.) Constellations Leo and Scorpio. Things were... rearranged. Closer. Alive, hearable (moreso than the high, cold song I often hear anyway, especially in the winter). The sky was not so dark but the stars were as bright as ever.

It's curious the way I will forget dreams on waking, and then something I see, hear, or smell later in the day will suddenly trigger memory. The sensation (and there is a physical reaction to it, a kind of ... vertigo?) is very odd.

I had a dream this morning about a Lifehacker post about how to turn your electric guitar into a water cooler. Yes, they regularly post items labeled "MacGyver tips", but that one seems slightly on the, ah, impossible side. (Also, WHY?)

Also, another about five seconds long featuring an original Snape (i.e., a visual image not derived from the movies nor, I think, any particular artist's conception).

Also, another about wanking some pretty young dream extra (not related to previous item!). I often have kissing dreams, but I this is the first one I can recall which contained semen. O.o

I'm kind of scared at my brain.

(No wonder R.E.M.'s songs make no sense. Michael! spit out those marbles this instant!)

[livejournal.com profile] tyrsalvia just posted about snow in Prague and that reminds me that last night I dreamt that it was snowing, here, sticking on the ground, on the valley floor (as opposed to just up at 2500', the tops of the local hills). I remember scooping big gobs of it together and thinking that there was something too-sticky, even gooey about it. (I know snow sticks together, but this was unnatural, plastic-y or rubbery-like.) 'Course, they were closing parts of Highway 17 the other day due to snow, and I remarked with amusement to [livejournal.com profile] enotsola that they had seen fit to print a little thing in the paper about the difference between hail, sleet, and snow, because apparently everyone was calling the sleet "snow", and of course to us surfer dudes it is all just frozen water that makes us go "AAAA FROZEN WATER WHAT DO I DO". *chuckles*

I had a rather curious dream late this morning ("late" relative to waking, so, say, 8:30 AM) which was about the Tarot card King of Swords. I was dreaming that the scene depicted on the card was very different from what it usually is. The only Tarot deck I use regularly is the Robin Wood, so picture this:

The figure was still the same person, but lying on the ground or possibly on a rock by the sea, in this kind of position:

His left arm is up as if to shield his face, not shading his eyes to look out. On his face is an expression of fear. In the dream I looked up the meaning of this card in the book and the king was described as having thrown his arm up "as if to stem the rising tide" (this was the specific phrase, I think), even though my recollection is that he was actually looking away from the water shown in the scene, and I think the word "overwhelmed" may have been in the text as well.

Now that I actually look at the card I see a kind of Aragorn thing going on, especially with that wacky winged helmet (Swords are Air-corresponded in this deck), but what I thought immediately on waking was that the King of Swords is a "dark king". I don't generally refer to the booklets that come with Tarot decks except at first or if I am really puzzled by a card, but in the booklet for this deck it says the King of Swords is "a perceptive, strong-willed, intelligent man" or, reversed, "cruel and hardhearted. Untrustworthy, crafty, pig-headed."
