oo, firefox 3 supports tagging on bookmarks?
pure sassy molassy says:
handy
pure sassy molassy says:
i often have the "argh, this can go in two folders, but i don't want to duplicate it" thing
enotsola says:
yeah, that would be fancy
pure sassy molassy says:
what i really want is tag organization on windows' filesystem. i hear vista has rudimentary support for this but that's not enough to make me want to dare vista
pure sassy molassy says:
i had a program once that did this, but that was before i really caught on to tagging, and it seemed like too much work to do the initial data entry mounds i would have to do
pure sassy molassy says:
now it doesnt' sound like a bad idea, i.e., it's a lot of work but i would get a good return for it
Does anyone have any clue what is the software I could be referring to? I thought I downloaded it off a link from Lifehacker, but trawling backwards through their posts (although I tried) is just too daunting, and as I have completely blanked on the program's name, I can't seem to construct a search query that will find it.
Re: Bookmarks. I would love to be able to have them all thrown in a big pool and create organization on the fly via tags. As it is I have a complex folder structure, which is fine, but when I mistakenly hit that "sort bookmarks" (which alphabetizes them) menu option, as I often do, it completely borks it because that is not an undoable action, and I have to reload the last synchronized version from my website and, like, email myself that day's changes so I can reconstruct them. It's annoying. A big tagged pool, it wouldn't matter what order they were in.
